The year 2011 was certainly a very volatile year for investors. Feelings of uncertainty and general uneasiness about the direction of both foreign and domestic markets have left current generations questioning what they have done to deserve to live in such a tempestous stage of history. However, a quick review of the 20th century has illustrated that tragedy and uncertainity have been with us and will always be with us. While it is easy to focus on the bad news; we mustn't overlook the good either.
